Schwegman’s Cleaners traces its history back to 1952, when Wayne Schwegman opened the original dry cleaning plant in downtown Willmar, Minnesota. Following the Korean War, the Schwegman family decided to enter the dry cleaning and laundry business, and over the next 30-plus years, they established a solid reputation for excellent service.

In 1985, Dan Sr. and Kathy Tollefson took ownership of Schwegman’s Cleaners, aiming to build on that strong foundation and expand service throughout the greater Willmar area. With convenient same-day dry cleaning, free home and office pickup and delivery, and drop-store locations, customers in west-central Minnesota have access to outstanding dry cleaning and laundry services, solidifying Schwegman’s Cleaners as a leader in the industry.

Equipped with the latest technologies in cleaning agents and pressing equipment—and backed by decades of experience—Schwegman’s Cleaners continues its reputation as a top dry cleaner and launderer. Today, Dan Tollefson Jr., who once mopped the floors at the plant as a child, runs the family business. With over twenty years of experience in the dry cleaning and laundry industries, he ensures that every garment is handled and cared for properly.
